Description
"The double earrings have simple geometric design and granulation neat the opening area. The long screws have bud shaped hoding on both sides. The main part of the earring is made up of chatai (mat) weave of gold mesh wire.
This kind of ear ornament is called Thandatti. It is worn exclusively by the women of Velalar Nadar class in Tamil Nadu and neighbouring Kerala. By juxtaposing squares, triangles, rectangles and knots, various forms are created for the women of the Velalar Nada class in Tamil Nadu and neighbouring Kerala."
