Description

Vithoba, known by various names like Vitthala, Panduranga, Pandharnath, Hari and Narayan, is a popularly worshipped deity in states of Maharashtra and Karnataka. He is typically depicted standing on a brick in akimbo posture, often accompanied by his consort Rukmini or Rakhumai.
The plaque depicts Vithal and Rakhumai standing beneath the decorative arch. They are standing on a paad peeth and their hands are placed on their waist. Both the figures are highly adorned. At the bottom of plaque shows the scene of a ghat with temples along the banks of river Chandrabhaga where the famous temple of Vithala and Rakhumai is situated in Maharashtra. An inscription on the plaque in Devnagari reads – Shri Vithal Rakhumai.
