Cup
Description
The Mughal emperors were was fond of exquisite objects. This dainty cup is probably one of the finest examples of jade object. It is plain except sparsely spread tinges. Probably used for drinking wine. We do see portraits of Emperor Jehangir holding similar wine cup in paintings as well as coins. One such small coin is in the collection of the Museum where he is seen raising a wine cup.
