Gyanbazi Pata
Description
This cloth painting represents the games of snakes and ladders. There are about 81 squares with numbers and text written.The top of the pata shows two small pavillions with a seated female figure inside. The pavillion is flanked by floral designs with peacock decoration.
In the centre, there are five blocks arranged in the sequence of 1-3-1 , adorned with a crescent on the top. The pata is made in Kolkata.
The inscription on the bottom says - 1-9 ( could be 1794 = 1737 CE)
