Description

Vase has a silver mouth and base. The body is covered with flowers on a blue ground.
The vase is created using the plique-à-jour cloisonné style or as called in Japanese shōtai shippō where after the wired cloisonné is ready, the material is dipped in acid to dissolve the base. This leaves behind the enamel surface resulting in an effect of stained glass.
This type of cloisonné was made around 1898 CE to the very early 20th century CE.
