Mother Goddess
Description
The Mother Goddess figurines from Harappan civilisation, such as this one show a lower garment consisting of a piece of cloth wrapped around the hips, held in place with a waistband. There is no upper garment, just a few necklaces. Interestingly, some women from tribal communities even today do not use an upper garment but wear beads
around their neck.
