Description

Navanita Krishna, the depiction of Krishna, as a child carrying a butter-ball is the most popular theme in Thanjavur paintings. In this type of painting, a crawling Krishna is always depicted as white, plump and winsome, adorned with jewellery. Beneath him, are depicted several offerings.
