Description

The art of glass making was known in India since very early times. Glass beads and reliquaries have been found in excavations at ancient sites. Fanciful glass objects such as rosewater sprinklers, ink-wells, dishes and huqqa bases however, were produced for royal courts during the Mughal period. Besides Delhi and some other centres in North India, Kapadvanj in Gujarat was well-known centre of glass production.
