This is one of the world’s largest living reptiles. They are found on the eastern coast of India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Palau, the northern coast of Australia, etc as it inhabits saltwater habitat like brackish wetlands. They grow up to the size of 20 ft and weigh up to 1000 kg.
The saltwater crocodile is a large and opportunistic apex predator. They are capable of prevailing over almost any animal entering their territory, including sharks, fishes, crustaceans, birds and mammals.
It was hunted for its skin throughout its range up to 1970 and is threatened by illegal killing and habitat loss
