Tiruneelakandar Nayanar
Description
Shiva disguised as a Shaiva ascetic ordered Tiruneelakandar, a potter, to take a dip in the tank and swear along with his wife that he had not stolen the ascetic’s begging bowl. Tirunilakanthar had taken a vow not to touch his wife therefore the couple took a dip in the tank by holding a bamboo stick.
शैव योगी के रूप में भगवान शिव ने तिरुनीलकंडर कुम्हार को आदेश दिया की उसे और उसकी पत्नी को एक जलकुंड में उतरकर शपथ लेनी होगी की योगी का भिक्षा पात्र उनके पास नहीं है। लेकिन तिरुनीलकंडर ने पत्नी को न छूने की शपथ ली थी इसलिए पति-पत्नी छड़ी के दो सिरों को पकड़े हुए जलकुंड में उतर गए।
