Visual retelling of the Mahabharata
Description
This is a synoptic representation of episodes from the Mahabharata depicted in four registers. The narrative begins at the bottom of the print with the Pandavas in Indraprastha. Other registers depict the game of dice, life in the forest, the visit of Duryodhana and Arjuna to Krishna in Dwarka, and Vishvarupa (universal form) of Vishnu.
यह चार तलों में चित्रित महाभारत का संक्षिप्त चित्रण है। वृत्तांत प्रिंट के निचले हिस्से से इंद्रप्रस्थ में पांडवों के वास से शुरू होता है। अन्य प्रसंगों में द्यूत-क्रीडा (जुआ), वनवास, द्वारका में कृष्ण से दुर्योधन और अर्जुन की भेंट इत्यादि शामिल हैं। सबसे ऊपर के स्तर पर विष्णु के विश्वरूप का अंकन है जो इस चित्र का प्रधान विषय है।
