Yamalarjuna Krishna
Description
According to a legend, two great devotees of Shiva, Nalakuvara and Manigriva, had disrespected Naradamuni, the Sage. Narada then cursed them to be turned into
twin Arjuna trees (Yamalarjuna) and they remained in the courtyard of Yashoda and Nanda, the foster parents of Krishna. When the child Krishna misbehaved, Yashoda often tied him to a large pounder. Tied to the pounder, Krishna dragged it between the Arjuna trees and uprooted them thus releasing Nalakuvara and Manigriva from Narada’s curse.
कहा जाता है कि शिव के परम भक्त नलकुवर और मणिग्रीव एक बार नारद मुनि को नाराज कर बैठे। नारद मुनि ने उन्हें अर्जुन के जुड़वां पेड़ (यमलार्जुन) में बदलकर यशोदा और नंद के घर में खिलने का श्राप दे दिया। मां यशोदा कभी-कभी नन्हे नटखट कृष्ण को एक ओखल से बांध देती। एक दिन कृष्ण ने खेलते-खेलते ओखल द्वारा अर्जुन के जुड़वां पेड़ उखाड़ दीये और नलकुवर और मणिग्रीव का उद्धार हुआ।
