The Egyptian civilization is one of the best preserved and documented of the ancient world and most sought-after subject for research and study. The British Museum houses one of the richest collections of Egyptian mummies in the world and a pioneer in the use of techniques to investigate these ancient remains. The CSMVS collaborated with British museum in bringing the 3000-year-old mummy of the ancient Egyptian priest Nesperennub. The exhibition was a unique opportunity for the people of India and for the city of Mumbai in particular, to have a close view of the rich treasures of ancient Egypt. The mummy of Nesperennub was never removed from its beautifully painted case until recently. This book unravels the mystery of the Egyptian mummy, casting new light upon the world of Nesperennub and the ancient tradition of mummification.
