The Museum Mumbai Guidebook

The Museum Mumbai Guidebook

Description

As a part of the Museum’s efforts to reach out to our visitors, guidebooks were published in English, Hindi, Marathi and French. The Ministry of Culture, Government of India supported the publication of these books and was first published in the year 2008. It guides the tourists around this 20th century Grade I Heritage building and its wonderful collections. It presents some of the most important and representative works of art from different collections. The Museum represents a vast collection of various forms of art from India and to a certain extent, Europe, Far-East Asia, Nepal and Tibet. A brief preview of each of the galleries with a floor plan is given along with a selection of the important objects representing the galleries. Each artefact has a short description with it. With the Modernisation Plan, many new galleries and display areas have been formed, hence, a revised version of the book is under research and shall be published soon.
